Monthly Magic Lectures from Visiting Magicians!

We regularly host magic lectures by visiting and local professional magicians in a venue nearby to our Magic Shop in the centre of London.

The next planned lecture is by Mark Elsdon on Tuesday 22nd January 2019, full details shall be posted here soon..

I can also announce that Derek Scott from Canada is presenting a workshop for us on Tuesday 19th February 2019. Further detail shall be posted soon. Places are limited for this, please email us if you want early notification.

The lectures are held at 'Casa Italiana' (2nd Floor), 136 Clerkenwell Road, London EC1R 5DL.

The influence of Ancient Egypt on the History of Magic

A lecture by Nacho Ares

We have dozens of cultural references regarding magic in the time of the Pharaohs. Texts, images and traditions found in the Valley of the Nile have inspired many magicians along the 19th century, when theatres and spectacles showed devices motivated for the modern Egyptomania.

In this lecture on 9th July, Nacho Ares will take us on a journey from the first mentions to magic as illusionism in Ancient Egypt (2500 a.C.) to modern magicians who have employed archaeological motives and designs inspired in Ancient Egypt.

Our magic course is now in its 15th year and is highly rated as one of the best ways to learn magic from scratch. The course comprises of 5 one hour lessons from an experience professional magician. All props are included as well as 5 DVDs to refresh you on the material covered during the lesson.
