MAGIC Convention

Each year we host the International Magic Convention in Central London. With a reputation for bringing the best names in magic all under one roof, the International Magic Convention in 2009 will be held 27-29 November at the Mermaid Theatre, Blackfriars in Central London. This weekend includes a MAGIC & VARIETY SHOW which is the only event open to the General Public.

MAGIC LEssons

For Beginners and newbies to magic, we offer an annual magic evening course. This comprises of a weekly series of eight lessons from an experienced, professional magician. You can learn how to do magic tricks and also study the basic principles, effects and philosophy of performing competent close up MAGIC.

The next course of magic lessons starts in March 2010, bookings are now being taken for this course.

The Magic Shop was featured in a pictorial history book which followed a selection of british shop fronts over a period of some 30 years. "Shutting Up Shop, the decline of the traditional small shop" by John Londei is a photographic tribute to the traditional small shop and was also recently the subject of an exhibit in the Museum of London. "The man with the golden hands"

Ron MacMillan's interest in magic began in 1954 when he lay in hospital undergoing treatment for tuberculosis. His wife, Theresa, bought him a book on magic to help pass the time. Ron started reading it, and "Hey Presto" he was hooked. After leaving hospital Ron returned to his regular job as a London docker, but all the while he cherished a secret ambition: he would be a magician. In 1957 he made his first public performance....."
